Theme: Ninjago
Name: Kai's Blade Cycle
S/N: #9441
Year: 2012
Pieces: 188
Minifig: 2
Price: RM99.90, USD14.99, GBP12.99

Box
Wanted to have this set for quite a long time, and finally I manage to get my hands on it. Is not new anymore but still a set I like and so the front of the box shows the age group that are suitable for this set, serial number, information that this bike converts and a nice box art. The top side of the box shows the minifigs with their name and Kai in actual scale while the back shows the playability of the set, the collectors staff that comes with it and introduction of the bad snake.

Content
There are four bags of bricks that were packed inside the box. Other frequent thing that we should have gotten when opening the box is the instruction book. Stickers were included in this set for you to decorate your cycle.

Accessories
The set comes with four accessories, a spear, a golden Hypnobrai staff and two katana or samurai sword. I'm disappointed over the katana, no idea whether it is made too thick because is very hard to slip it through the katana holder at the back of  Kai.

Minifigs
Both Kai and Rattla have their leg printed and their torso printed both side. Both of them are a nice minifigs. Both minifigs have only one expression printed on the head. Regarding the problem on the katana, is either the katana or the katana holder hole that is made wrongly. Need to squeeze the katana into the holder.

Shrine
I suppose this is the shrine that holds the golden staff like what the other set has called it. The shrine got flames at both the side and the golden staff was placed in between the flame. There are a small hole under it with lime green tiles which I suspect is the place where the venom flows.

Blade Cycle
I am not sure to like it or hate it, but overall it looks very cool in my pictures. There is only one playability in it if you want to said so, that is, it converts.

I like the big wheel with the slim tires on. Besides, there are two large blade pointing out at the front, smaller serrated blade at the lower part of the cycle and blade that are used for blade attack mode on the cycle.

There are handle bars included for Kai to control the Blade Cycle and the handle bar are adjustable to fit Kai. Also Kai have to stand while controlling the cycle and it seems like it cannot fit Kai with double sword attached on him unless it changed to blade attack function.

To change the mode of the cycle, just press the button right in front of the handle bar and it will force open the fin on the both side and it will pushed the blade on both side of the cycle wider.

Guess that is all about the blade cycle and now is time for Kai riding on the his blade cycle photos. . .

Extra pieces
There are quite a number of extra parts left for this set.

Completed model
A very nice blade cycle I would say if you were to look from the front but not the side. I think the price is reasonable too and are recommended to get one to kick start your Ninjago collection. I think this second wave is better than the first wave in terms of vehicle design.

Playability: 6/10 Press and change mode playabilty, not a bad idea.
Building experience: 6/10 A good learn to build a cool bike.
Parts: 6/10 A few new parts and Hero Factory parts included.
Value for money: 6/10 Reasonably priced.
Overall: 6/10 This is either the first or the second set that you should put on your Ninjago wishlist.
