LEGO Star Wars #7931 Jedi T-6 Shuttle Review

Theme: Star Wars
Name: Jedi T-6 Shuttle
S/N: #7931
Year: 2011
Pieces: 389
Minifig: 4
Price: RM349.90, SGD159.90, USD59.99, GBP49.99

Box
The shuttle do make a few appearance in the Clone Wars series and I think this shuttle is not bad just a bit pricey. I gotten this US version from Bricklink and it got pieces count printed on the front. The top side of the box shows all four minifigs in the actual scale while the back shows the playability of the shuttle.

. . .

Content
There are five bags of bricks in the box and each bag assemble a different part for the shuttle. Comes with the bricks are the instruction book and a sticker sheet. There is not much stickers to apply on the shuttle and I think is a good thing.

. . .

To read the instruction, kindly click HERE.

Accessories
Since the set comes with Jedi only, we get only four lightsabers (three blue and one yellow). the amount i just right for each of them. Nothing more and nothing less.

.

Minifigs
For those that started collection in year 2008 will probably hate Obi-Wan and Anakin. Those two are the old minifigs back in 2008 and the good thing here is Shaak Ti and Saesee Tiin. Saesee Tiin minifigs have unique headgear and got their torso printed on both side.

. . .

The cape thing really is a bother as Shaak Ti headgear is in the way. To prevent the cape from being damaged, I ended up not applying it.

Jedi T-6 Shuttle
The only thing that were different here is the cockpit. The body of the shuttle look alike with the real thing. As usual, we start from pictures that were taken from different angle.

.
. . . .

The cockpit able to fit two minifigs and there is a printed piece inside the cockpit. The cockpit is small and to fit two new minifigs in it, it was rather hard and you need to place them in a right pose. It will be easier if you place Obi-Wan and Anakin in it.

. . .

The cockpit has one playability which is detachable cockpit. Perhaps they made it as an escape pod just in case the ship were to explode. Another good thing here is that the windscreen is a printed part.

. . .

There is a landing gear install under the shuttle to balance the shuttle when you want to display it and it only apply to the landing position display.

. .

Next is the rotatable wing. The wing fits very tight and is very useful when you are about to display it especially in the landing position. There is no way to display it in flying position, so you might want to hang it on the ceiling.

. .

Last but not least, the push-fire function cannot recall how this thing fly, but if the wing were to keep on rotating when it fly, the chances of the missiles to hit the wing are very high. So all you have to do to fire the missiles is just to push the translucent blue part behind the ship.

. .

Extra pieces
These were the pieces that were leftover after the assembly process.

.

Completed model
The amount of bricks is the same with the Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship and it is more expensive. Perhaps the price is more expensive due to the big piece of parts, new headgear and the printed windscreen. I still think is wiser to get the minifigs alone for local collectors.

.

Playability: 6/10 Detachable cockpit, push-fire missiles, rotatable wings, and landing gear.
Building experience: 5/10 Quite a number of process are wasted on the wing, bricks stacking.
Parts: 7/10 You get that rare big technic part and the printed windscreen.
Value for money: 3/10 The price is not good at all over here.
Overall: 5/10 Nice minifigs and quite a nice shuttle. But ugly price tag.

LEGO Star Wars #7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship Review

Theme: Star Wars
Name: Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship
S/N: #7665
Year: 2011
Pieces: 389
Minifig: 4
Price: RM309.90, SGD109.90, USD49.99, GBP40.99

Box
I don't find this gunship interesting however, the minifigs does. As usual the front of the box art provide us with serial number, name of the set and sometimes the minifigs which were included in the set. At the top side of the box you can see all the minifigs in their actual scale and the back of the box shows the playability and advertisement of other Star Wars set.

. . .

Content
There are three bags of bricks, a sticker sheet and a instruction book. Each bag of the bricks were numbered and each of them assemble the separate part of the gunship.

If you plan to go through the instruction book, please click HERE.

Accessories
There are quite a number of weapons included, and one of them is the crate with a printed tile as the cover. The blasters and everything just sufficient for all of them.

Minifigs
The assassin droid is just to add the number of minifigs only. My target is Embo, Aurra Sing and Sugi. the three of them get their torso printed both side and they look so nice.

Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship
The good thing about this ship is that the shape looks accurate. The other good part is that it comes with a lot of dark green parts but there are also weaknesses in this. the ship got small cockpit, small prison cell, and lack of playability. Anyway pictures first:

.
. . . .
.
The cockpit surprisingly can fit Embo and since these bounty hunters are separated into two teams, I didn't try Aurra Sing in it. To reveal the cockpit we just need to open up the panel on top. It make us more convenience to fit the minifig too.

. IMG_1687 .

The cockpit not only fits a minifig but at the same time you can keep your blaster in it. The blasters can be attached to the roof. There is a brick that can hold maximum of two blasters.

. . IMG_1695

There is a door at the side of the cockpit. All you need to do is to slide open the door to reveal the cockpit and the prison cell below the cockpit. However, there prison sell is not suitable to captured the Jedi, is more suitable to be a storage cell. The crate fit in very well but not the figs unless they are in lying positing.

. . .

There is a panel behind the lower part of the cockpit which can open and close to reveal the prison cell. Maybe it is useful to show some proof there are Jedi captured in there or to show that they have a lot of supplies.

IMG_1705 IMG_1706

To change the position of the ship from flying position to landing position we just need to push the grey slope piece backward. The weakness here is that in flying position, the engine cannot be 90 degree straight and it is still a little heavy hence exposing the hidden compartment a little.

. .

So the secret compartment to place the crate that stored holocron is right below the grey slope that we push forward and backward. It no longer hidden when the gunship land.

. .

The gunship is equipped with a few blaster cannon, where there is a pair dual blaster cannon in front which can be adjust up and down. Another two blaster cannon is right above the secret compartment that protect the rear of the gunship.

Extra pieces
The leftover after the assembly process are as below picture.

IMG_1724

Completed model
I suggest fellow minifigs collector to buy the minifig separately rather than the whole ship unless you are a MOCer yourself and the parts might be useful to you. there's not much playability in this set and the main playability which is changing position of the gunship got a little flaws.

IMG_1667

Playability: 4/10 Few playability and the main one got flaw in it.
Building experience: 6/10 It's cool to have slide open door and storing the blaster at the roof of cockpit is a good idea.
Parts: 7/10 A lot of dark green parts and a number of uncommon part like the large cone.
Value for money: 3/10 I cannot tolerate the unreasonable price here although is dropping.
Overall: 5/10 Not really a good set, I just bought it for the minifigs.
