Box

In LEGO world Dastan do compete in the ostrich race, anyway that is what shown in the front of the box. The side are the actual scale of the minifigs with their name stated while the back are shows the function(s) of the set as usual.

Content

We get three pack of bricks, an instruction book and a pack of ostriches. The new ostriches are packed separately.

Accessories

Compare to desert attack, this set has less accessories but we are targeting for the ostriches instead of the accessories in this set.

Animal(s) & Insect(s)

We get two ostrich, a snake and a scorpion. I like and dislike the new ostrich because their head is rotatable and at the same time the head easily get stick to dust.

Minifigs

We have three minifigs from this set which is Ostrich rider, Sheik Amar and Dastan. Ostrich rider and Sheikh Amar got both side of their torso printed.

Sheik Amar and Dastan have double expression whereby both side of their head stud are printed. See picture below:

Weapon Rack

I guess this is an extra to add on in the set, the weapon rack with a few weapons placed on it. Seems like is an extra bonus to reach the piece counts since I didn't see it in the movie.

Platform

So here's the platform without any function. However, this platform is where Sheik look at the race although it is different from the movie.

Ostrich Platform

So here's the platform where the ostrich were placed before the race started. The ostrich can only stand on one stud but not both together.

The functions, which is opening gate is support by droid's arm. Sometimes the gate can't align with the base and we need adjust it. By pulling the beam behind, the gate will open up and the race start. ^^

Extra pieces

About the extra pieces, not much are given. Maybe not much small parts in this set but there sure is a lot of droid's arm.

Completed model

Here's the look of the completed model once every pieces of parts are put together. The ostriches are new which is one of the attraction that made me buy this set.

Playability: 4/10 Open and close gate function only and movable ostrich head.
Design: 7/10 The design is not bad, but the things seems like scatter around.
Price: 4/10 Is pricey here for all licensed theme. ^^
Overall: 5/10 New ostriches are great addition to collection so do the parts.
