S/N: #5970
Year: 2009
Pieces: 80
Minifig: 2

Box
The box sure is bigger compare to the recent release of the set that have almost the same piece count, but is a good thing since it fits everything inside after you assemble them. At the side of the box have the actual minifig scale shown and pictures of the minifigs while the back of the box shown the function of the set.

Minifigs
Since there is no accessories in this set, we go to the minifigs. Both the minifigs, Kranxx and Space Police officer have both side of their torso printed. In addition, their leg are printed too. Below are the pictures:

Traffic Light and Stop Sign
The traffic light is nice and if you like it, you can MOD it for four ways traffic. I didn't apply the stickers, so the stop sign is actually an empty sign.

Police Ray Bike
Well this is the name TLG gave to it. It features flick-fire missile with it. Below are the pictures from different angle:

IMG_0384 IMG_0386 IMG_0389 IMG_0391 IMG_0394

I would have to say is pretty hard to fit the space police officer on his ray bike.

IMG_0375

So here's the flick-fire functions at the front of the ray bike.

IMG_0395 IMG_0398

Hotrod Hover Cycle
This is Kranxx vehicle and I like the fire a lot and i think the cycle is just average. But it do made out of interesting parts.

IMG_0614 IMG_0618 IMG_0406 IMG_0627 IMG_0632

So here's Kraxx with his hotrod cycle. There is not much functions with this cycle except adjustable handle.

Extra pieces
We do get quite a number of extra piece from this set.

IMG_0372

Completed model
So here's the overall view of the completed model.

IMG_0369

Playability: 6/10 Flick-fire missiles again.
Design : 8/10 The design of the vehicles is still acceptable but I like the traffic light a lot.
Price : 6/10 Is quite an expensive set looking at the currency exchange rate.
Overall: 7/10 Nice parts and nice minifigs.

LEGO Space Police #5969 Squidman Escape

Theme: Space Police III
Name : Squidman Escape
S/N : #5969
Year : 2009
Pieces : 42
Minifig : 2
Price : RM35.90, SGD12.90, USD5.99, GBP4.89

Box
This box have quite a good box art, the police on the small raptor chasing Squidman, the new alien minifigs. The side of the box is the actual minifig size for you to learn the size, while the back of the box is another box art, nothing special, since this set has no function that comes with it. MY box a little damaged though. (^-^)

#5969 #5969 1 #5969 2

Content
This sets comes with two packet of bricks, an instruction booklet and of course sticker sheet which will be the added detail to the raptor.

The instruction can be download at: LEGO Website
Squidman cape is specially pack in a small cardboard pack that looks a little like envelope.

IMG_0733

Accessory
The only minifig's accessories included in this set is the money, and it is printed and is the same with City theme note. Guess space note is usable in LEGO City. =P

IMG_0751

Minifigs
Two minifigs are included in this set. Both of the minifigs have both side of their torso printed and we get a new alien head mold with printed detail on it. Below are the pictures:

IMG_0758 IMG_0760 IMG_1448

At least there is something new from the revived space theme.

Space Raptor
Here's the small vehicle and it is just completed without stickers put on it. LEGO do give me some bricks with black scratch mark, but nevermind.

IMG_0738 IMG_0740 IMG_0749 IMG_0741 IMG_0746

As you can see, there's nothing much to play with this set expect open and close the hood although there is no details there, and bending the rear part of the raptor.

And here's the process of applying stickers. What you need here is a cotton-bud and a toothpick. The reason of using toothpick is to prevent your finger print from being on the sticker, especially the transparent one and to prevent the sticker to lose it stickiness.

IMG_1425 IMG_1428

Once applied to the bricks, use cotton-bud to iron it.

IMG_1431 IMG_1430

And here, it is done. Of course it looks better with the stickers on, but it will be a disadvantages to MOCers.

IMG_1433

Extra pieces
Here's the extra bricks left, just in case you loss it in the future or broken. I will keep them back inside the box anyway.

IMG_0734

Completed model
Once the assembling and applying sticker process is done, this is the thing we get, a cool raptor and two minifigs. =P

IMG_1442

Playability: 4/10 No functions for playability though.
Design : 8/10 This set is well design, the raptor looks just good.
Price : 8/10 The price is acceptable.
Overall: 7/10 Cool raptor, nice minifigs, lack of playability.

LEGO Space Police #8400 Space Speeder

Theme: Space Police III
Name : Space Speeder
S/N : #8400
Year : 2009
Pieces : 14
Minifig : 1
Price : RM17.90, SGD6.90, USD3.49, GBP1.95

Box
Again, this is a small set with little content and of course a very small box. I don't really like the box art much, but only the background while at the side of it we got a minifigs scale while at the back of it are warnings.

Box Box 1 Box 2

Just in case you are not planning to display the model, you can just keep it back in box without dismantling it.

Content

Inside the small box are a packet of bricks and a small instruction sheet. Instruction sheet contains parts number at the side of the building steps and advertisement of other impulse sets.

Content Instruction sheet

To download the instructions, you can find it at: LEGO Website

Minifig
The minifigs got both side of his torso printed, the leg is printed too. Just in case you only want the minifig, you can buy this set instead of the space truck which give the same minifig. Anyway the headgear is unique, just that it is without visor.

Headgear Minifig Minifig 1

You can apply the visor yourself and since it is not included, you can use the extra visor from K-9 Bot (#8399) and it will turn out perfect.

Space speeder
I'm a little impress that the designer can create a space speeder with this few pieces, but it turn out be real ugly. (--") The handle can be fold just to save space.

image-5881_4ACC1160 image-6F87_4ACC1160 image-D2C0_4ACC1160 image-41C2_4ACC1160

There's nothing much to do with this space speeder, the only thing that is playable is the handle. Anyway, this is the ugliest impulse up to date.

Extra pieces
We got three extra piece of bricks left after the process of assembling this set is done and here they are:

Extra pieces

Completed model
Here's the completed set, and it turns out to be. . . well you know it, I know it. But luckily, the minifig's headgear save the day.

Complete set

Playability: 4/10 Handle that can be folded is nothing special.
Design : 4/10 Ugly space speeder it is.
Price : 8/10 The price is cheap.
Overall: 5/10 Lack of playability and ugly speeder.
