Box

Here's another battle pack that was released this year, and usually people grab both set together and once they sees it although they are not much of an Old Republic fans. I grabbed one too and I can finally review it.  The front of the box are printed with the name and the serial number, there is also the Old Republic printed on the bottom left. The one to one scale are presented by the new Sith Trooper in red while the back of the box show us the playability of the hover speeder.

   

Content

The content are separated into to bags of bricks, a sticker sheet to decorate the Sith's hover speeder and an instruction booklet that guide you through the assembling process.

  

Accessories

Here's the weapons that comes in this set, three blasters that comes in different sizes and a brick-built blaster, no idea why I included it inside.

Minifigs

This set comes with four minifigs and the minifigs are superb and greatly detail. Plus, the instruction does not meantion which head goes onto which bodies for the other three, you are free to mix and match. The only thing that some says this one is not a hot seller compare to the other that just have two minifigs, is that this set is from Old Republic (expanded universe) that is not as popular as Clone Wars or the Original / Prequel Trilogy. 

Sith Trooper: Both have different design (helmet, face, torso and leg) and both the new one have printed legs. I actually mistaken that the head are of the same for this two trooper I made, there is only a slight different which I need to take two heads, put it side by side to compare. Also the new black Sith Trooper makes the old one looks outdated and pricey with the his newly printed leg. It pretty much affect the old Sith Trooper and I hardly see people restock to sell Darth Malgus anymore since the two Sith Troopers are difficult to sell now. 

Republic Trooper: Both of them have the same helmet, torso and leg printed design but different face expression. Finally they get it right as these troopers are not clones. Their torso looks pretty cool, and very detailed, but I have no idea if such helmet ever existed in the game (yes, I never play the game before). The leg print is a little blur which again I would said bad quality and their helmet too, which sometimes the colour is a bit off.

  

Hover Speeder

This vehicle are rides by the Sith Trooper, it is actually quite small but it seems quite accurate if were to compare with the one in the game. Although there is not much playability, but you get the small quarter rounded plate. Somehow I have a feeling it looks like a stingray. 

   

The hover speeder armed with two missiles, one each on each side of the hover speeder. I think due to the size, this are the only playability that they can implement into it.

  

On one side of the handle bars, there is a clipper to hold the rider's blaster.  Seems like a good function for the rider, since he can just grab his blaster and shoot around once he is out of missile.

Completed model

With the same price, the number of parts was reduced almost by half due to the increase in number of minifigs included in this set. That pretty much explain how valuable are the minifigs. If you are a minifigs lover, this set is right for you, but if you love to h ave more parts, you shall go for #75000 Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas.

Playability: 2/10 Flick-fire again.

Building experience: 6/10 Nice hover speeder, love how they build the handle bars part.

Parts: 8/10 Low number of parts, but cool minifigs and weapons.

Value for money: 6/10 The price is now same with the price back in year 2007.

Overall: 5/10 If you are minifigs lover or Old Republic fans, you must grab one.

It definitely has been a long time since I reviewed a set that is packed in a box as I previously focusing on the shared LEGO business with my friends. Cash flow is not that good, now that my cash flow is a little better, here goes the review. Here's the battle pack from Star Wars this year, and the Clone Sergeant and Trooper comes together with two brick-built Droidekas (that is why I put 2 minifigs). The front of the box shows us the name and the serial number of the set while the top side of the box shows us the Clone Sergeant in the one to one scale for you to estimate how big the set was. The back of the box shows us the two playability that the command platform has.

  

Content

LEGO has reduced the size of the box and the box contains two bags of bricks, and an instruction booklet. The set do comes with a good number of parts if were to compare to #75001 Republic Troopers vs. Sith Troopers.

 

Accessories

Here's a binocular and two blasters of the same size since there is only two Clone Troopers. There are some old school Jango Fett guns and binocular which both combines and become Droideka's weapon and since I considered them as part of the Droideka, they are not shown here.

Minifigs

Building clone armies not getting tough nowadays, we are only given one Clone Trooper and the set comes with a Clone Sergeant which too much do not seems useful. I wonder can we still call this a battle pack. I still prefer the old ways where the battle packs are separated by factions.

What can I said about the Clones. They shares the same face, or head, their torso are printed on both front and back. The front print on the torso differ from each other whereby the sergeant has his rank printed on the right of his chest, while the print on the back looks similar. They have different colour of visor and sometimes the print on their helmet are messy, a common incident for battle pack minifigs. Poor prints I would said.

  

The Droideka are put together by a number of bricks. They are not exactly ugly but is a little hard to get the stand right, since there are three legs that are needed to be adjust to balance them properly. Bad news here is that they cannot turn into a rolling ball, but you still can fold them., just that it will not appear in round shape. Maybe oval shape.

 

Command station

The command station is a little small and the space is very narrow. But it looks like a nice command station, not a disappointing, but definitely out of scale. By right they shoukd be bigger and are able to fit a few more Clone Trooper in it. Maybe is time to get the parts and expand it ourselves.

   

At first I thought that this command station only fits one Clone Trooper and it sits in the middle of the command station. I then felt strange, if that the Clone were to sit in the middle, the flick-fire missiles might just shot him. Finally I get them right after that, the two Clone are sharing the monitor, and are seated on both the side of the station. They fit in very well.

At the back of the station there is a hole at both the side that holds the blaster for this two poor Clones that have to fight against two Droidekas. No clippers were use this round.

There are door on both side of the station which you can fold it up and let it down. Due to the size of the station, the door are made from the flag parts. There are no extending platform for Master Yoda to walk to the command station too.

 

Now to the all time favorite or the super duper common playability, the flick-fire missile. This time the missile is hidden in the communication radar. However, the tail of the missiles mixed very well with the radar. Is has turned into the antennae of the radar. Just push the box like thing backward.

 

Now that the missile are revealed, you might want to adjust the radar a little bit to prevent it from hurting your finger or to make this missiles a useful one to defeat the Droideka.

Due to a high number of small parts that comes in this set, we have a lot of parts leftover after the assembling process.

Completed model

Not really a Clone Trooper army building playset, I think army builder will have to source for the Clones elsewhere, otherwise, buying too many of this set for just the Clone Trooper is very deadly to your pocket. All on all I have a pleasant experience building this set and the command station are just great, although the size is a little small.

Playability: 4/10 Same old playability.
Building experience: 8/10 The end result seems fine to me and really helpful when you are about to expand it.
Parts: 8/10 Great small parts and good number of parts
Value for money: 6/10 The price has dropped and it really makes a difference.
Overall: 6/10 A nice set to own and not to be missed but not recommended to use it as army builder, unless you are building Droideka army.
