Is quite shameful for me to bring a review date back the year of 2008. I might get screw from the owner of the blog for bringing them up. Hope the viewer likes it. The front of the box is the box art, while on the side is the actual minifig scale, and on the back are advertisement for other castle set that are targeted towards the castle fans.

Minifig
The set clearly shows we are getting a wizard for the Crown side. The torso is not printed, blank both front and back. However, the leg and hat are printed.

Crystal Ball & Wise Owl
Here's a quick shot of both the crystal ball and the stand for the owl. Pretty hard to get the both of them focus in the lens. Deeply apologize for that.

Completed model
This set do make me recall Wiz the Wizard with his glow in dark wand which I pretty much like it back then. Anyway, we do not need so much wizard for a kingdom. I guess one of this will do.
#5614 complete

Playability: 2/10 Wonder what is there to be play with.
Design: 8/10 I love the crystal ball very much.
Price: 7/10 Reasonable.
Overall: 6/10 Just get a copy of this to add a wizard for your kingdom.

I would say this is the best castle impulse up to this date as it gives us armor, shield, weapon and extra helmet. I don't think any army builder will miss this set.

Minifig
The knight here also got his torso printed only on one side which is the front. The expression looks fierce though, suitable to display him in battle field.

Rack
The design is very much simple for the rack, but it looks just nice to fit into the middle of your castle.

There is this two extra pieces that comes with the set.

Wagon
Since it is something like we get from the advent calendar which is pretty much simple, I just take a shot of it. But at the very least it has a function.

This set do not comes with any extra pieces and as such I would like to conclude my review with a picture of the completed model. This set is worth buying if you plan to build your troll army, since the quality is good.

LEGO Kingdoms #7950 Knight's Showdown Review

Theme: Kingdoms
Name: Knight's Showdown
S/N: #7950
Year: 2010
Pieces: 61
Minifig: 2
Price: RM39.90, SGD13.90, USD6.99, GBP4.99

Box
The front are just box art, while on the side shows the actual scale of minifigs. The back shows a function of the set. This is one real small set, but with two minifigs, I think it is acceptable since one of them are dragon knight.

.
. .

Content
Inside the small box are two packet of bricks, and an instruction booklet. Since there is nothing much to shown here, I placed a bigger picture here.

To download the instruction for this set, please visit HERE.

Accessories
Below shown all the weapons we get from this set. There are two swords here, however, there is only one lion shield.

.

Minifigs
We get one Dragon knight, which looks pretty cool too and a Lion soldier (??) since the helmet is for knight. Below are the pictures:

Weapon racks
Since it is just a small thing over here, I just snap a picture. I think this is something like we can get from Advent Calendar, small and simple thing.

.

Catapult
While here's the so-called powerful catapult. It's terrible and not even powerful enough (_ _ll). Anyway is just a small set, so stop complaining. =P Also the shield are only placed on one side of the catapult only.

.

So here's the picture where both of the thing are put together.

.

Extra pieces
Spare plumes for your future knights. I think is good to give extra of these accessories for your knight helmet.

.

Completed model
So this is how the completed thing looks like. I would say castle set gives a lot of weapon and good amount of minifigs these days considering the size of the set.

IMG_0098

Playability: 6/10 I guess I should give a high marks for a small set like this.
Design : 6/10 Catapult is quite small, the rack is ok~
Price : 8/10 The price is affordable for kids.
Overall: 7/10 Good accessories, and good minifigs. I'm a minifigs lover. =D

LEGO Kingdoms #7949 Prison Carriage Rescue Review

Theme: Kingdoms
Name: Prison Carriage Rescue
S/N: #7949
Year: 2010
Pieces: 50
Minifig: 3
Price: RM59.90, SGD19.90, USD9.99, GBP9.99

Box
This is one of my first Kingdoms set. As usual, the front are just box art, while the side are the 1:1 minifig scale. The back shows one of the function and another nice box art. Although this set do not have much playability, but is one of the way to get your horse armor and also knight helmet. Below are the box art:

box
box1 box2

Content
Inside the box are two packet of bricks, a separated horse and an instruction booklet. There is not much pieces in the packet.

content instruction

To download the instruction for this prison carriage, please visit HERE.

Accessories
I'm real happy with the set as it includes quite a good number of weapons and now the sword have two different color.

accesories

Minifigs
We get three minifigs from this set. The new knight helmet looks good and you can add another fine knight into your collection.

Here's a pitiful lion soldier have two expression.

minifig4 minifig5

Talking about the horse head armor, it is separately packed together with the horn. The armor actually makes the horse looks fierce.

horsesrmr horsesrmr1

Prison Carriage
This prison carriage is really small and the prisoner can't even move. Well, is lucky for the rider as the prisoner might just took the spear and pierce it through the rider since there is a big bap behind the seat. Perhaps he can choke him too.

.
. . . .

The only things that can be played with is the opening cell and movable wheel. (_ _")

. .

The horse seems grumpy, the army from the dragon faction must have ill-treated this horse.

.

Extra pieces
There are four pieces left after done assembling. Looks to be a good accessories for your spare knight. The other cheese slope are actually dark green.

extra pieces

Completed model
The set is actually not bad as you can get the new helmet for the knight and the horse as both the parts serve to separate the theme from the other castle theme. So is a good set to get them. Here's a simple completed model shot by me.

completed model

Playability: 6/10 For a small set like this, we can't expect much playability.
Design : 6/10 The prison is too small.
Price : 6/10 The price is somehow reasonable and in an affordable range.
Overall: 6/10 Good accessories, and three minifigs with a horse.
